この度東京にて 「流転ー玉響展」を開催致します。私の制作のテーマである流転シリーズのオブジェを始め、今回Tokyo Fantastic にインスピレーションを受けた作品も展示予定です。皆様のご来場お待ちしております。(Tomomi Kitazawa Kennedy)
I have an exhibition at Tokyo Fantastic in Omotesando,Tokyo,from 13th to 30th May (closed Wednesdays). I'll exhibit my "Ruten" ceramic sculptures and new works inspired by the wonderful Tokyo Fantastic. Please come to visit and enjoy!(Tomomi Kitazawa Kennedy)

流転
作品を作る時、いつもその時に感じる感情が形を作っていきます。それはまるで自然に時間が流れるようにその時の気持ちが土の中に形を現していきます。
陶芸作品は1日では出来上がりません。
数日に渡る私の感情の流れが、その中に積み重なってやがて完璧な形になるのです。
流転という言葉の意味は、移り変わってやむことがないということです。
私の作品作りの原点はこの言葉です。
そしてそれは、すべての物事に共通すると思っています。
時間は常に変わります。自分の感情も、それに合わせ変わっていきます。
同じ瞬間は存在しません。1秒前と同じ自分は存在しません。
全ての人に同じように時間が流れ、全ての人が様々な感情を繰り返し生きています。そんな瞬間の積み重ねを表現したいのです。
土を目の前にして、自分の感情をまるで日記のように土の中へ現していきます。それゆえに、私の作品は同じ形は存在しません。そのバラバラのかたちの中で、誰かに一つでも気に入ってもらえ、そばに置いておきたいと思ってもらえたら、私はその人と、その”かたち”を通して通じ合えたのだと思っています。
そのような
人との繋がり合いを求め、私は制作を続けています。
Artist’s Statement - "Ruten"
When sculpting, the form of my work is shaped by the feelings I am experiencing at that particular moment.
My ceramic works are never completed in one day.
Their creation is part of a process – one that I feel is like life itself.
My works are inspired by “Ruten”, a word taken from Buddhism.
It means “continual change”. It is difficult to explain in a language other than my mother language…Japanese.
According to Buddhist religion, even though a body may die, a person’s life never ends.
Time, also, never ends.
People die, but the memory of them can live on in others.
Every moment cannot be the same, each is slightly different, changing continuously, just like emotions.
For me, it is so important to put my emotion into the clay.
This way, all my works take on a form, which differs emotionally, day by day, in the same way one person’s everyday life differs from another person’s everyday life.
I’m searching for a shape or form that is based on my feelings.
Not only does my work depend on shapes constructed from my emotional viewpoint, I also believe these “shapes” could produce similar feelings for others, maybe for people at a similar point in their life.
I hope that people who have never seen my work would find something that they might recognise in it.
I think this kind of encounter is to “feel empathy”.
I look to empathise with others.
It is my way of expressing empathy and my way of concerning myself with others.
It is as natural to me as breathing.
プロフィール
女子美術大学付属高校卒業。女子美術大学工芸科陶芸コース卒業。
ハンガリー工芸美術大学（現Moholy Nagy University of Art Design)に政府奨学金生として2年間留学、その後も数年ハンガリーに滞在し陶芸シンポジウムに多数参加。
現在イギリスにて作家活動中。
1998 Graduated from JOSHIBI University of Fine Arts Department of Crafts, Ceramics, Faculty of Arts, Kanagawa, Japan
2000-2002 Studied at Masters level at Hungarian University of Craft and Design in Budapest, Hungary as a recipient of a scholarship from the Hungarian Ministry of Education
Lives and works in North West England, the U.K.
